Plans for Green Belt Development Defeated
Plans to build a large battery storage facility in the green belt in Bramcote have been defeated after opposition from Bramcotes Lib-Dem councillors. Both David Watts and Andy Kingdon addressed the planning committee, pointing out that this was the right scheme in the wrong place. Battery storage will be an important part of future developments but they should be built near sub-stations, not 2km away in the green belt. The proposed scheme had lots of flaws and we were delighted when the councils planning committee voted to reject the application.
